GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Coaches vs. Cancer at Cypress Bay High School
For the 6th year in a row the Girls Varsity Soccer Team took part in the Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Event at Cypress Bay High School. The event consisted of four Varsity Soccer Teams (Cypress Bay, Cardinal Gibbons, Douglas High School and North Broward Prep) coming together to play two competitive soccer games, while also raising awareness for cancer. This year to help raise awareness for Pediatric Cancer the Lady Eagles wore gold head bands and gold socks. The most important part of the event is that all four teams take advantage this opportunity to give back to the community and this year the teams gathered pajamas, socks, head bands and beanies to donate to the PajamaRama organization for kids suffering from pediatric cancer. Once again the Lady Eagles made us proud with the number of items donated. Overall, the night was an awesome experience and was a great opportunity for the girls to come together as a team, while also giving back to the community. Great work Ladies!!

TEAM OF THE WEEK: GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER
The Girls Varsity Team is only three games away from the most important part of their season, and with three big wins this past week, the girls are on a roll. They started the week off with an important district win over St. Andrews, 6-0, followed by a second big district win over University School, 3-0 which allowed the team to secure a #2 seed in the district tournament and a bye for the first round of play. The Ladies did not stop there, they capped both those wins off with a convincing win over King’s Academy, 8-0 last night. The girls now turn their focus to the rest of this week when they face Spanish River on Wednesday and Douglas High School on Thursday in the team’s annual Coaches vs. Cancer event. Good luck girls…let’s head into post season with a few more wins!
